1. Guess according to the pictures: What hobbies and interests are mentioned in the passage?

 

If you are bored of other games or if you want to learn more about modern history of China, the game Invisible Guardian (隐形守护者) might be more fun to play.

This game is set during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (抗日战争). The main character is a member of the Communist Party of China (中国共产党). He pretends (假装) to be a reporter and gets intelligence（情报） from the Japanese. You choose his every move and your choice affect his fate（命运）.

The game is interesting because it features thousands of real pictures. It looks like a documentary. I really like it.

The game’s theme is also moving. Although your character faces hardship, his strong will and love for his country bring him courage.

 

Calligraphy（书法） is a way to show the beauty of Chinese characters. It’s part of traditional Chinese culture. After thousands of years of development, there are many calligraphic styles.

Most Chinese people now write in regular script（楷书），which means the characters are in order and look like squares or rectangles（长方形）. There are other calligraphic styles, like cursive script（草书） and running script（行书）. I like these scripts because they are more dynamic（有活力的）.

If you want to practice calligraphy, first you need to choose one calligraphic style that you are good at and then you need to practice often to improve your skills. You might choose a style that suits your personality. If you’re active, you might like cursive script, but if you’re quite, you might like regular script.

 

Many people know Zhou Shen because of his unique voice. This is what makes people remember him. But when he was younger, it was a big problem for him.

When he was a student, other boy’s voices started changing, but his did not. It sounded like a girl’s voice. He never wanted to sing in front of other people. He was afraid of being laughed at. He worked as a dentist until he plucked up the courage to compete on the third season of Voice of China.

His beautiful voice has been compared to the “sounds of nature.” He has since become more optimistic about singing. He has shown me that it’s okay to be different. It’s a way to become outstanding.
